Jeanae is a South Carolina native who recently relocated to Georgia. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Winthrop University in 2021 and went on to complete her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2025.
During her time at MUSC, Jeanae served as a peer mentor for Student Mentors for Minorities in Health and as a board member of the Student Diversity Leadership Council, where she worked to bridge the gap between underrepresented student populations and leadership opportunities within the health professions.
Jeanae has gained experience across diverse settings, including hand therapy, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient clinics. She has also volunteered with afterschool programs, the Special Olympics, and various nonprofit organizations supporting children and families with disabilities. Her doctoral capstone focused on addressing unmet needs between infants, healthcare providers, and early childhood education staff to promote early developmental success.
Outside of work, Jeanae enjoys going for runs, attending festivals and concerts, watching TV shows, and trying new restaurants. She lives by the quote: “Work for a cause, not for applause.”
