OTR
As a little boy, I did not really know what I wanted to be when I grew up. But I did know that I wanted to help people. It was during my time at Auburn University that I learned about occupational therapy, and I was hooked! After completing my B.S. in Exercise Science at Auburn, I continued to the University of Alabama at Birmingham to get my degree in occupational therapy.
I have been practicing occupational therapy for 22 years, with 18 of those years being focused in pediatrics. Pediatric OT is my true love. During my time as an occupational therapist, I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with hundreds of children. I have worked with these children and their families to assist in developing a countless number of skills. More importantly, these children have taught me so much more than I have taught them. This has certainly made me a better person!
When I am not working as an OT, I serve as the vice president of my neighborhood HOA. I am also the captain of our neighborhood men’s tennis team. I enjoy photography, hiking, camping, and yard work.
As a child, I did not know what I wanted to be when I grew up. I could have never imagined that because of occupational therapy my life would be so truly blessed and that I would be one of very few people who can say “I love going to work.”
